Where my feet will take me, I will go
When my heart is open, I can only grow
Even the best laid plans have detours,
Twists, and turns
But I’ll arrive…still…heart intact
Open to love
Open to receive
Beyond anything my heart can ever conceive
I arrive, heart intact, open to love, open to receive
What a nice way to start the day. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Yvonne!
Nice.
Thanks Kim!
Such a positive reminder of the power of perseverance — lovely.
Good morning LadySparks! Thank you! I love that you take the time and care with your feedback. You hit the nail right on the head! Perseverance is the most appropriate characterization for this particular part of my journey right now. It isn’t about liking it, per se, but persevering through. (I hope to share more once I get better “settled”, if there’s such a thing.)
“I arrive, heart intact, open to love, open to receive” — I wish we could always remember to arrive in that way after all of our twists and turns.
I’m imagining a child coming home with a bloody knee from falling, and a smile on his/her face.
Yes, because that child knows that for the most part, s/he is in safe territory. “Onward” revealed itself very personally to me at this particular, decision-intensive time in my life; when neither choice is optimal, but the knowledge that I’ll land on both feet keeps my heart open and ready to receive.
As always, Jon, thanks for stopping by, and for your reflective feedback.
Nice clean and crisp poetry. I appreciate that.
Thanks Amelie! I’m glad that it resonated that way. I love poetry, but get so frustrated when I can’t follow the author’s train of thought, or any particular logic. While I don’t mind a literary challenge, I hate being confused. My patience begins to wear thin.
Thanks for reading!
